My Stash Calculator is a simple future value calculator that quickly shows how savings (or not spending) decisions now, can impact your retirement stash.
Given a once off or weekly/monthly/yearly savings, it shows what that will accumulate to in 5, 10, 15 and 20 years time, and then translates that into how much this stash would provide as an income stream forever! E.g. giving up one $3.00 coffee a week for 10 years will give you a stash of $2257 which you can draw $7.52/month from that point on, forever. How's that for a motivation to save!
You can change the assumptions for these calculations under settings, but the defaults of a 4% withdrawal rate, and a real growth rate (after inflation) of 7% can be considered fairly conservative.
